MPSU Joins A-GRASS 2025 in Vietnam

Mountain Province State University, under the leadership of University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, took part in the Asian Graduate Studies Summit (A-GRASS) 2025, held from May 21 to 24, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, together with a delegation of 10 teaching and non-teaching personnel.

MPSU delegates engaged in plenary sessions and networking activities with scholars from across the Asia-Pacific, focusing on graduate education reform and interdisciplinary collaboration.

MPSU Launches Twinning Program with Indonesian Partner to Promote Global Student Mobility

Mountain Province State University continues to strengthen its internationalization efforts through its newly launched Twinning Program in partnership with Politeknik Piksi Ganesha, Indonesia. This student mobility initiative offers MPSU students a unique opportunity to earn dual qualifications while experiencing cross-cultural learning in both the Philippines and Indonesia. The program is designed to provide flexible and career-focused education pathways that prepare students for the global workforce.

Open to all motivated MPSU students, the twinning program encourages learners to broaden their horizons, build global networks, and enhance their professional profile through international education.

MPSU Delegates Join International Youth and Faculty Development Programs in Thailand

Demonstrating its commitment to global engagement and academic excellence, Mountain Province State University proudly participated in the 3rd Youth Development Program and the 5th Faculty Development Program held in Pattaya and Bangkok, Thailand, from June 23 to 27, 2025.

The university was represented by nine (9) student delegates and one (1) faculty member, who actively engaged in plenary sessions, workshops, benchmarking activities, and cultural exchanges aimed at developing leadership, innovation, and global perspectives.

MPSU Researchers Excel at Asian Graduate Studies Summit 2024 in Thailand

Mountain Province State University (MPSU) demonstrated its academic excellence and global engagement at the Asian Graduate Studies Summit 2024 (A-GraSS 2024), held from April 3 to 5 at the Bangsaen Heritage Hotel in Chon Buri, Thailand. The event, organized by Burapha University and the Asia Pacific Consortium of Researchers and Educators (APCORE), gathered over 400 participants from 67 institutions across Asia.

Eight MPSU researchers presented 13 studies spanning education, natural sciences, and applied sciences. Seven faculty members also served as session chairs, showcasing leadership in academic discourse.

Dr. Jonelle D. Fagsao received the Best Research Award in the Education Category, while Dr. Epiphania B. Magwilang and Ms. Luzlyn M. Agwilang were finalists in their respective fields. Additionally, Dr. Magwilang’s team, in collaboration with partner universities, won a ₱50,000 APCORE seed grant for their proposal “NutriCoco,” aimed at developing coconut-based emergency food to support rural communities.

MPSU’s active participation in A-GraSS highlights its commitment to sustainable development, international collaboration, and transformative graduate research across Asia.

EDU-CONNECT SOUTHEAST ASIA ASSOCIATION

The Edu-Connect Southeast Asia Association, Kaohsiung is a civil society organization based in Kaohsiung City aiming to facilitate educational, business, and industry exchanges between Southern Taiwan and Southeast Asia. Its membership comprises universities, emerging micro-, small- ---, and medium- --- enterprises (MSMEs), and several development organizations located in Southern Taiwan cities.

The Training Network in Asia is a start-up project between the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) and the Edu-Connect Southeast Asia Association, Kaohsiung. The project aims to offer thematic training visits to promote collaboration between Taiwanese and Filipino academics, experts, businessmen, and industry leaders.

The Nursing faculty of MPSPC was awarded international scholarships at Kaohsiung Medical University, Taiwan.

Eva F. Dimog, a faculty member of the Nursing Department of Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) was granted the Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU), Taiwan Students Scholarship Award Value: Type A to study Ph.D. in Public Health starting September 2019 to July 2020.

Edu-Connect Delegation during the Taiwan visits MPSPC: 2019 Edu-Connect Delegation to Manila Metropolitan and Cordillera Region. The visit was to discuss mobility between MPSPC and other institutions in Taiwan, the event was attended by the different departments of the institution.

ANTENA Project

The Internationalization of Higher Education in the Philippines Network (“ANTENA”) Project is an endeavor led by the University of Alicante in Spain with the support of the University of Montpelier in France and the European Foundation for Management Development in Belgium.

The project envisions to help improve the Philippines’ credit recognition and mobility system and international research activities and develop specialized staff in international relations. It primarily aims to consolidate the country’s internationalization structure and help build the human resource capacities of Philippine higher education institutions (HEIs) through targeted training programs in 10 select institutions. On top of this, it also seeks to complement governance reforms of the Commission on Higher Education and enhance international networking through strategic actions in key areas of the Philippine higher education system.
